“What would you
do if you knew you had less than a minute to live?”– says Jake Gyllenhaal as he
stares at Michelle Monaghan waiting for the moment he knew was about to come.
He was in a position where no man had ever been in, and he knew things which
made no sense. All he knew that he had 8 minutes to get some answers and end a
catastrophe which seemed impossible to be done. Jake Gyllenhaal stars in the
science fiction thriller Source Code directed by Duncan Jones, a talented new
director whose debut Moon (2009) had made quite a stir in the film industry
receiving mostly positive reviews.
As a follow up, his 2011 Source Code has again proved his
competency as a good director, the story is so fascinating and by the end it
may seem a little complicated for the audience to fully accept it or even
remember it.
Nevertheless, the plot will not let you down. Thanks to the
intense score of the movie, the very first scene builds up for a suspenseful
atmosphere. The plot starts with a mystery and will constantly make questions
rise in your mind.
Even the character developments are neatly staged so that
you can get to understand it as the mystery unfolds .Source Code will keep you
on the edge of your seat; it has the perfect pace will the right amount of
thrillers as well as romance.
The chemistry between Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan
which was developed within a short time
also seemed believable .It is an action sci-fi flick but as the story goes on
the emotions and twists involved gives the movie a more different feel to
rather than just explosions and the typical save the world experience.
Co-stars with Jake Gyllenhaal in Source Code also include
Vera Farmiga, Jaffrey Wright, along with some special guest appearances
including stand-up comedian Russell Peters.
The less is told about the story, the better it would be. It
starts with Jake Gullenhaal as Colter Stevens an American Army helicopter pilot
whose last memory is flying in Afghanistan, but he wakes up on a commuter
train. He soon figures he has a complete different identity with a strange mission
given to him.
Source Code is a must see because it deals with a deep
concept which is intelligent, intriguing, and indeed original.
All in all Source Code is entertainment at its best.
